Cruelty

image
Evil men
prey on children
and vulnerable women

Evil men
take innocence
and trust away

Evil men
don’t usually
pay for their crimes

Evil men
go free

They just walk away!

The message this sends
crushes the spirit
and leaves all the shame
on the souls they
leave behind

The innocent
crippled with fear
broken beyond repair
and left
with no one
who cares

The message this sends
further damages
what is already broken

It crushes the spirit
of the casualties
they left behind

No one gets
the terror
inflicted

No one sees
no one cares

-alone-

Because the world
does not get it

The wounds
cannot be seen

The blood
the anguish
invisible

The pressure
unbearable

Survival
an expectation
without a helping
hand

Turn your head
look the other way

The reality too much
what can I say

-alone-

It is a life sentence
in which the innocent pay!

  1. The last sentence is my quint essence of what rape and child abuse means to to the victims. There will never be any justice that can heal these wounds. At least if society would recognize this injustice and point the finger at perpetrators and not at those who have been abused.

    1. Yes! It would help to lesson the sting. It would go a long way toward helping us to heal.

I have been harmed almost as much by the lack of love, support, and understanding as the abuse itself.

Those you see who do make it to the other side are often those who have received the love and support it takes to make it through.

The rest of us fight against all odds! We often get criticized and faced with frustration from the very ones who withhold their love and support, which if given would go a long way in setting us free.

It is so very sad and contributes to the sense of ALONENESS that pierces deep into our souls! It makes us feel as though we do not belong here!

Thank you for your kindness and your insight!
