Love Dies

broken-heart2

Love doesn’t die all at once
it dies a slow death
like the drip of a leaky faucet

Love dies by a million paper cuts
one blow at a time

Love dies while we don’t even notice
it dies a quiet death

As love is dying
if often feels like drowning
everything in us tries to survive
in spite of the trauma
love doesn’t want to die

Love cries out
for a life boat
even when no one cares
or hears the cry

Love dies
through one heartless act
or word at a time

Love dies
it always dies
when love is taken for granted
